Corniches were born from the need for small improvised spaces to store various objects. “In the same way that we hang our things on a rock jutting out from a cliff before diving into the sea, we also need a little informal storage space in our everyday lives,” explains Ronan Bouroullec. And that is why Corniches are neither regular shelves nor simple horizontal surfaces, but rather individual, isolated protrusions in the environments we create.
