The wooden chair par excellence marks one of the key moments in the design and executive collaboration that began in the early 1950s between Gio Ponti, Cesare Cassina and the company’s craftsmen. From the experience and skill of the Cassina carpentry comes a challenge marked by the progressive lightening of the structure – which will result in the slimmer and more inimitable Superleggera – aimed at enhancing the simplicity of the lines while respecting its characteristics of strength and stability. The multiple combinations and the original colour contrasts between the ash frame and the seat upholstery means that the model is always up-to-date and easy to fit into different contexts.
