In 1960, the Eames Office was commissioned by Time Inc. to furnish three Lobbies at the Rockefeller Center in New York. In addition to the interior renovations, the project also included comfortable Lobby Chairs and a series of turned solid walnut stools. The stools, which according to Ray Eames’ wishes were also to serve as side tables, differ from each other in the central part, having different profiles.
