Patricia Urquiola
At the age of 22, Urquiola left her hometown of Oviedo to attend the Polytechnic University of Milan, where she studied architecture. After graduation, she began her career at the De Padova studio in Milan, eventually becoming the head of product design. Between 1996 and 2001, she worked for Lissoni Associati. Throughout her career, Urquiola has designed products and furniture for renowned companies such as Alessi, Cappellini, Cassina, Coalesse, Flos, Kartell, and Moroso. One of her notable works, the Step Sofa, was showcased at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. Since 2015, she has served as the Creative Director of the Italian furniture company Cassina. In 2022, she expanded her creative endeavors by designing her first fashion collection for Max Mara and played a significant role in the renovation and redesign of the Haworth Hotel in Holland, Michigan.
