Originally designed in 1986, the Miss chair represents a timeless blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern reinterpretation. The collaboration between Afra and Tobia Scarpa and Molteni&C, which began in 1973, produced a number of iconic designs, and the Miss chair remains one of their most poetic and functional pieces.

Design Highlights

• Structure: Open-pore black lacquered ash, offering depth and texture while preserving the natural grain of the wood.
• Coating: Upholstered in a refined brown herringbone fabric (“tessuto colore marrone spigato”) for a warm, tactile presence.
• Form & Function: Thin, outward-splayed legs ensure stability. The front legs bend to form the armrests, flowing smoothly into the backrest, while the rear legs support from behind, emphasizing a continuous and ergonomic silhouette.
• Comfort & Craft: Tobia Scarpa reworked the armrest joint to make it more linear and comfortable, enhancing both aesthetics and usability.
